- The southern summer, roughly October to April, is warm and dry. Winter brings rain, and whale season along the coast.

- Cape Town International (CPT). Allow roughly 20–30 minutes by road to the city centre or the Atlantic seaboard, traffic permitting.
- Getting around
- Traffic drives on the left. Chapman's Peak Drive is a toll road that can close in bad weather, so check its status before setting out. Use a driver on wine-tasting days.
